During my artist residency in China in 2016 I began creating wall pieces I call Fabrics of Life. I am interested in the various layers life consists of and in bringing them to life. Lace imprints, decals, drawings, underglazes, glazes, and gold luster are some of the tools I use to enhance these layers. The hand formed “lines” represent water but also remind of rice fields seen from above – a memory I brought back from China.
